Title Analysis on Luminance of Outdoor Signboards of Commercial Areas in Seoul at Night Considering Light Pollution Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Journal of The Korean Society of Living Environment System Abbreviated Journal J. Korean Soc. Living Environ. Sys
  Volume 22 Issue 4 Pages 583-595-589
Keywords Lighting; Light pollution; Commercial areas; Night-time lighting; Outdoor Signboards; Luminance; outdoor lighting; artificial light at night; signs; LED signs; LED billboards
Abstract As the city is commercialized, the number of stores is increased and it also makes outdoor billboards’ number increased accordingly. And signboards on the street make pedestrians unpleasant, making light pollution by light reflection. In this study, we measured the luminance to target the outdoor signboards of commercial area in Seoul. On the basis of the obtained results, the External system showed high luminance values, and the luminance values of Letter-type system were lower. Furthermore, the measured value at the midnight time was higher, and we considered that the more floating population bring about the high luminance value of the External system. The signboards of External system should be avoided, the Letter-type system should be recommended.

Title Energy Efficiency Lighting – Romania Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Romanian Journal of Building Services Abbreviated Journal Romanian J. of Building Services
  Volume 1 Issue 3 Pages 1-7
Keywords Energy; Romania; architecture; sustainability; sustainable lighting
Abstract The paper presents the Romanian experience, which is unique in promoting green

buildings and the impact for lighting. Without prior experience, situation has changed with the new Romanian Green Building Council, founded in 2008, which started with courses on sustainability (including 8 hours course on lighting), with green building contest and ending with a European web-platform Construction21.eu. A major breakthrough was a 2012 Cluj-Napoca city council decision that a certified green building should receive a 50% local tax reduction.

Since then all new buildings are LEED or BREEAM certified and lighting was one of the parts were buildings received a lot of points or credits. The sustainable lighting approach is the future oriented solution. It includes all the aspects not

only technical or energy efficient ones and for this we need to rethink lighting from a broader perspective.

Author Sandeva, V.; Despot, K. openurl
Title The effects of lighting exterior and interior design Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Innovation and Entrepreneurship Abbreviated Journal Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  Volume 5 Issue 1 Pages 10-20
Keywords lighting; interior lighting; exterior lighting; design; space
Abstract Light, whether natural or artificial is a very important element in interior and exterior design. It actually helps us to see color because color is visible to our eye because the substances of which was obtained reflect wavelengths of light. Light as an element of design influences other elements. It can make the space large or small, showy and bright or dark and unpleasant. Places that are well-lit with clean, clear light make the space seem larger, while the fading light and shadows

that fall on the walls create a sense of enclosed space. The light can change the color of the visible identity by color and type of light that falls on the surface.
